Doyle is accused of:

Since he was named by police, the BBC can report that Doyle is a father-of-three, a local businessman, and a former Royal Marine.
Police have also said that of the 79 people injured in Liverpool on Monday, seven remain in hospital.

We earlier reported that Paul Doyle, the suspect in the Liverpool car crash, is a local businessman and father-of-three.
We can now also report that Doyle is a former Royal Marine, who is believed to have served in the 1990s.

As we've reported, Paul Doyle has been charged with six offences related to grievous bodily harm, and one of dangerous driving (see the full list here).
The S said the charges would be kept "under review as the investigation progresses".
The Chief Crown Prosecutor for S Mersey-Cheshire, Sarah Hammond, said: "The investigation is at an early stage.
"Prosecutors and police are continuing to work at pace to review a huge volume of evidence.
"This includes multiple pieces of video footage and numerous witness statements."

A neighbour of Doyle tells me the area was swarmed by police late on Monday evening.

“We ask that the judicial process be allowed to continue without any speculation online or anywhere else that could impede the pursuit of justice for all those affected,” she says.

Seventy-nine people have been injured, and seven remain in hospital.

We're at Merseyside Police headquarters in Liverpool, where a press conference has been called on the Water Street investigation.

Again, the world's media is here to take in what is expected to be a significant update in relation to the 53-year-old man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and dangerous driving offences.

Detectives have been questioning him for more than 70 hours since Monday evening, after a Ford Galaxy car injured more than 70 people, including four children, in the wake of Liverpool FC’s Premier League trophy parade.

Speaking will be Assistant Chief Constable Jenny Sims and Chief Crown Prosecutor for the Mersey Cheshire S, Sarah Hammond.

The streets of Liverpool were packed on Monday for a parade celebrating Liverpool FC winning the Premier League.

The crash happened just after 18:00 BST on Water Street in central Liverpool, which was closed to traffic.

Eyewitnesses said the open-top bus, filled with Liverpool players celebrating their victory, had gone past about 10 minutes before.

Water Street's roadblock was temporarily lifted to allow an ambulance to attend to a member of the public who was having a suspected heart attack, police believe.

The car involved in the incident may have followed the ambulance into the street, investigators said earlier this week.

Police have not provided many details since Monday evening, during which time they have continued to question a 53-year-old suspect.

His identity has not been disclosed yet, which is standard practice - UK police forces do not ordinarily name suspects until they have been charged with an offence.

Questions continue to be asked about how the car came to be driving down Water Street, which was supposed to have been closed for the Liverpool FC victory parade.

Police believe the driver may have tailgated behind an ambulance which was being allowed through a temporary roadblock to attend to a suspected heart attack.

We know the suspect is being questioned about three possible offences: attempted murder, dangerous driving and drug driving.

Although counter-terrorism police were drafted in to assist with the initial investigation, police say they do not believe there is an extremist motive.
