Paul Doyle due to appear in court on Friday after Liverpool crashpublished at 19:06 British Summer Time 29 May
Paul Doyle, 53 and from West Derby in Liverpool, is due to appear in court in Liverpool on Friday. He has been charged with seven offences relating to the car crash in the city on Monday.
Doyle is accused of:
- Two counts of unlawful and malicious wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm
- Two counts of causing unlawful and malicious grievous bodily harm with intent to cause grievous bodily harm
- Two counts of attempted unlawful and malicious grievous bodily harm with intent to cause grievous bodily harm
- One count of dangerous driving
Since he was named by police, the BBC can report that Doyle is a father-of-three, a local businessman, and a former Royal Marine.
Police have also said that of the 79 people injured in Liverpool on Monday, seven remain in hospital.
