Travelling by turnip 412349

I was trying to ask if there was a shuttle bus between Calais maritime and Calais town centre - however it came out as un navet, a turnip, rather than une navette - fortunately the puzzled look on the rail worker's face soon made me realise my mistake ....

That is one of the funniest stories I've read in ages. Laughed so much that I'm wheezing! I don't speak French, though I'd love to learn, but the imagery of this scenario is brilliant. Excellent post!
