More from Chelsea manager Graham Potter speaking to BT Sport: "Really pleased. Not the ideal start for us but the character was good and overall we played quite well. We attacked well, had some good chances and finished it off in a positive way.
"Whenever we have played Raheem Sterling we try to get him as high as we can. He has only ever needed to defend against the full-backs so it was a slight change in of the back four behind him but not too much change.
"The worry would be if you are not creating chances. Tonight we had a few we could have scored obviously. But our intent was good, our play was good and there is always ways to improve but the quality was there.
"We got the win, a performance and the boys gave everything. We are a work in progress but with our Champions League campaign we can be happy. We dust ourselves down for a big game on the weekend."

Chelsea
Chelsea boss Graham Potter on Denis Zakaria to BT Sport: "I thought he was really good. You can see what he brings, the quality he has and he played with enthusiasm. He had good discipline and got forward when he could. I was really impressed with him.
"He certainly did more than we asked which was to give us competition there. He did everything he could. He helped the team and scored - a great debut."

Chelsea
Chelsea boss Graham Potter on Ben Chilwell to BT Sport: "It doesn't look positive. It's a hamstring. We will have to scan it and see how it is."
On goalkeeper Kepa who was seen on crutches: "No he won't be OK for Sunday. It's only precautionary [to have the crutches] to keep the weight off his foot. He's progressing well but won't be available for Sunday."

Manchester City
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola to BT Sport: "We struggled [in the first half].
"In the first half the guys tried. Second half was better, really good goals. I'm happy for everyone."
On Rico Lewis: "What a goal. He's a fantastic player, so intelligent. He understands everything. He made a fantastic goal and played really well."
"In the second half we put more people close to the box. In the first half they were a little bit wider."
On the youngsters: "They played in the Champions League against Sevilla, an experienced team. Good victory."
Former West Ham player Joao Mario's 92nd-minute goal to make it 6-1 for Benfica was the difference between first and second in the end.

Chelsea
Chelsea debutant Denis Zakaria to BT Sport: "Very excited and very happy for my debut and my goal. We won too so I'm really happy.
"I think it was important for me to have a good game and help the team to win. The job is done today. The win is the most important thing.
"On my mind was only that I have to score. I hit it as hard as possible and it went in so I'm really happy."
Having to wait for his debut: "Very, very difficult I have to say. I like to play and always want to play. When you have to see your team-mates from the bench it is not easy but I was always behind the team and was waiting for my chance. Today it came and I took my chance."
What Graham Potter asked of him: "It was nothing special, only that I had to play how I trained in recent weeks. I enjoyed the game."
The reception from fans: "Amazing feeling. The Chelsea fans are amazing. It is really good for me to have this experience. I hope I can have a lot of games in front of Chelsea fans."
Do you think you can get more minutes? "I hope so but I think that is a question you will have to ask the coach!"
Man City 3-1 Sevilla
Manchester City
Manchester City defender Ruben Dias to BT Sport: "Definitely [what they wanted]. We wanted one more thing - not to concede. Unfortunately we conceded one.
"It was one of those games, everything is settled in the group, it's a game in which you need to perform because the rhythm is going with non-stop games.
"To drop down [in of performance] is not a good idea. The second half was a very good answer from the team."
On Rico Lewis: "He's an enormous talent. He's been with us a long time. To get the opportunity of playing practically the full game and scoring, you can see his quality. He just needs to keep working."
On De Bruyne: "It's one of those Kevin things. It's good to be able to count on him.
"At this club it doesn't matter if it's a friendly, the Champions League final, or a game in the groups with eveything done, we need to push each other. Same as training."

Chelsea
Former England manager Glenn Hoddle on BT Sport: "I feel for [Ben Chilwell], dreadfully. Sometimes with a hamstring you get a little warning sign. That's when you put your hand up.
"That one just went. His face went and as he touches the ball he grimaces and looks in real pain. It looks like a nasty one. I don't understand why they haven't carried him off.
"That's such a blow. I am gutted for him."

Chelsea
Former Chelsea and England midfielder Joe Cole on BT Sport: "Horrible sight for Ben Chilwell. I feel his pain. I had problems at the back end of my career.
"It's heart-breaking. As soon as it happens all you can think about is that it is so close to a World Cup.
"If it's a hamstring injury usually the least you can hope for is 2-3 weeks before you get back onto the pitch. It's really tough. I really feel for him."

In the end, City's class came through but really good first half from Sevilla.
