It might be a few hours yet until the parade heads down The Strand in Liverpool but there are fantastic scenes here!

The rain isn't putting anyone off.

There are people of all ages here, with red flags stretching back as far as I can see.

This is the first time Liverpool fans have been able to fully celebrate winning a top-flight league title since 1990.

It’s absolutely bouncin’ at Blackstock Market, off Vauxhall Road in Liverpool.

    Doors opened at 09:00 BST.

Among the jubilant Reds here is Dylan from Northern Ireland. He says it means everything to him to be here in Liverpool for the mother of all parties.

  5. Sitting pretty... on top of the worldpublished at 14:04 British Summer Time 26 May

On a day like this, it's important to get the best view possible and fans are desperate for any vantage point.

Not quite as high as the famous Liver birds, but not a bad view, all things considered.

We're not the fun police, and don't want to sound like your mam... but please be careful out there and don't put yourselves and others at risk!

Oh, and we hope that lad's got a cushion to help him over the next few hours...

The Champions Wall has already been updated at Anfield to reflect the 20 top-flight league titles that Liverpool have now won.

The Reds are now level with old foes Manchester United - can they make it 21 next season?

It's quite the line-up of trophies - not bad for 133 years' work eh?!

It's not the only wall impressing fans though as many of those gathering for the parade have stopped for a selfie in front of the new Virgil van Dijk mural.

It's hard to imagine the sheer scale of what is happening in Liverpool this afternoon.

The parade may not have even started yet, but the party most certainly has, with thousands upon thousands of fans lining the streets of the city centre.

They're probably looking at waiting at least three or four hours until they get a glimpse of their heroes in red.

The open-top bus parade is scheduled to hit the road at 14:30 BST from Allerton Maze.

It will then follow a 10-mile (15km) route towards Blundell Street in the city centre.

Liverpool FC said the journey could take anything from three to five hours... so patience is very much the order of the day.

He came to Liverpool two days ago and watched the final match of the season in a pub near Anfield. He’s out on Queens Drive with his mate Rob Jones from Birmingham.

Frank says he became a Liverpool fan thanks to Dutch international Gini Wijnaldum playing for the Reds a few years ago.

Frank tells me: "The party was insane! It was a little bit tough this morning but we made it and today is going to be amazing again."

As well as being a fan of Wijnaldum, Frank said the city of Liverpool and “the kindness of the people” really “resonated with me” after he began following the club.

“It grew and grew and I’ve been in love ever since,” he adds.

Let's get the latest information from our BBC Weather colleagues...

The bad news is that showers, mercifully light, are expected this afternoon in Liverpool.

Later in the day the outbreaks of rain may become heavier.

And if you're reading this while out and about somewhere... it's pretty blowy!

  11. Parade takes weeks to organisepublished at 13:31 British Summer Time 26 May

This parade malarkey doesn't just happen overnight - complex plans have been worked on and revised for many weeks by a whole range of organisations, from Liverpool City Council to Merseyside Police, from Liverpool FC to a whole army of volunteers.

Our mates at BBC Radio Merseyside are all out in force today too... spare a thought for the Bluenoses amongst them!

We've got reporters all along the parade route who will be popping up as often as they can. One lucky lad is even on one of the buses in the procession.

Other locations along the way include:

    • Jolly Miller pub... nice work if you can get it...
    • Blackstock Market
    • Cunard Building

Be sure to say hello if you see them out and about!

People thronging The Strand in Liverpool are in for a long wait...

The open-top bus parade, which isn't even due to start moving from Allerton Maze until 14:30 BST, is due to finish down here by the Mersey three-to-five hours later.

It being a typical Merseyside Bank Holiday Monday, of course there are showers forecast...

At least some of those who are here have brought their brollies and waterproofs.

They’ve travelled down with his mates Adam Kilner and Michael Hughes from Chester.

Anthony said: “We’ve all come over to celebrate. It’s going to be amazing. Nobody does it like us.

"There’s literally thousands of people going to be lining the streets so we’ve got set up here with the flags and banners so looking forward to it. Can’t wait!”

I was seven the last time they won the league with the trophy in their ground (back in 1990) so it’s kind of come full circle to the next generation.

  15. Legends will 'float down a river of red'published at 13:05 British Summer Time 26 May

    Luke Reddy
    BBC Sport

    “A lesson in logistics.”

That was what one gent told me in Liverpool on his morning walk earlier. He was, of course, discussing his plans for the Premier League trophy parade. Another chap told me he was out early to find a “parking spec for later” so he could get his 80-year-old dad and his toddler close enough to the starting point of the open-top bus parade. From Allerton Maze, Liverpool’s players will cruise a red river today. It’ll houses decorated for the occasion, it’ll screaming fans, it’ll smoke and it’ll be a general outpouring of pride and mayhem. The smell will live on your clothes, the love will be shared between hearts and the images will stay stored on camera rolls and in minds.

The Strand, where the river will end, will hear song, see confetti and by the end of the day, will wear the look of a road that has taken an unusual hammering. Liverpool moved to their own rhythm this season and this afternoon their bus will float down its river of glory.Legendary manager of days gone by Bill Shankly famously told the masses that he “drummed it into our players time and again that they are privileged to play for you”. Today, this modern crop will see, up close, exactly who it is that they play for.

Cunard's Queen Anne ship was due to arrive at Liverpool's Cruise Port at 12:00 BST in plenty of time for the open-top bus parade.

However, high winds have resulted in her being fashionably late... she is now expected to arrive at 17:45.

Here are the adjusted estimated times if you want to see the ship while you are in the city for the Liverpool FC victory celebrations:

    • Mersey Bar: 15.45
    • Formby: 16:15
    • Crosby: 16:45
    • Cruise Port: 17:45

Police are urging Liverpool fans heading to the victory parade not to set off flares or smoke bombs.

Merseyside Police tells us one of its officers was among 17 people injured by flares ahead of the Reds' final game of the season at Anfield on Sunday.

Hundreds of thousands of fans are expected in Liverpool city centre for the open-top bus parade later this afternoon.

Ch Insp Chris Barnes says Merseyside Police wants everyone to enjoy the party atmosphere... and get home safely afterwards.

Did you spot a huge white limo on your way to the parade with kids singing Liverpool songs out the windows?

It is a group of 15 die-hard Reds from Fleetwood, Lancashire, including Mel, Joe, Jaxson and Flynn who were determined to travel in style for the special occasion.

Mel says: "We wanted to do it in style with a ribbon on to mark it!"

They set off at 10:00 BST.. We're hearing that it was pretty "loud" on the way... whether that's down to the cocktails and fizzy drinks is anyone's guess!

Meanwhile, back at Anfield, some of the Liverpool players celebrated with their children, nieces and nephews on the pitch.

Goalkeeper Alisson Becker enjoyed a jig with his family, while Luis Diaz and Trent Alexander-Arnold also let their hair down.

And quite frankly, we can see that while he may be touted as an Egyptian King, Mohamed Salah's daughters are clearly ruling the roost in his household!
